  • What is Google Ads?

    Google Ads (formerly known as Google Adwords and Google Adwords Express) is an online advertising platform that advertisers use to promote their products and services. Ads can appear on Google Search when someone searches on Google, when they browse YouTube and other websites. You have control as to when your campaigns are active, how much you spend and where your ads will show.

  • How do Google Ads work?

    Depending on your goals and campaign types, Google Ads allow businesses to appear in front of their target audience when users are searching on Google or browsing the web or YouTube. Each campaign has a variety of settings which will help define where and when your ads appear. For search, you select a range of keywords that relate to your products or services. To show your ads across the web, you select topics, keywords or specific sites you want your ads to appear on. For YouTube ads you can select channels and keywords that you want to appear on. You can also restrict your ads to certain times of the day, or days of the week as well as limit your ads to certain demographics and locations.

  • What are the different types of Google Ads?

    There are four main types of Ads within Google Ads.


    Search Ads -  text based ads that appear when someone searches Google for a product or service.

    Shopping Ads -  promote product inventory in your physical or ecommerce store and use product data that you supply to Google.

    Display Ads - usually images but can also be text ads. These appear when someone is browsing the web.

    Video Ads -  videos can vary in length depending on the type of video campaign. These can appear in a variety of placements across YouTube and Google Display Network.

    CPC (Cost Per Click) or PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising means you only pay when someone clicks on your ads. There are other types of advertising such as CPM (Cost per Impression) or Cost Per Engagement where you only pay when a user completes a specified action.

  • What can I expect from professional management?

    With professional Google Ads management, you will expect your account manager to understand how to set up and manage Google Ads campaigns. Professional management involves setting up campaigns to best practice. Ongoing management is a crucial component of successful Google Ads campaigns. The Cost Per Click can vary widely across industries, so it’s best to chat to one of our team to discuss what a typical daily budget might look like for you. 


    Google Ads Management pricing can vary from agency to agency. We work off a low-cost monthly management fee which is based off the number of active campaigns you are running.

  • How long should I run my campaign for?

    Google Ads are not a get rich quick strategy, and shouldn’t be invested in if you’re looking to test it for a couple of weeks and then turn them off. We recommend a minimum of three months to get the most out of new campaigns. This gives us enough time to obtain enough data and optimise your campaigns, as well as give you an idea of what is possible with Google Ads. Once you have an active campaign, it should run continuously whilst being constantly optimised and scaled up or down to suit your business goals over time. Our most successful clients and campaigns have been running their ads with us for over 12 months.
